A Brief Note of Thanks

Hello Everyone!

This is just a brief note to say Thank You to all our readers. It means a lot to Kris and myself to know that not only do people from right here in the good ole USA read our blog but also from around the world.

So I wanted to take a few minutes and show my appreciation to all of you for your support and comments. And by doing it in that Countries native language.  This is meant as a show of gratitude. If it is in anyway incorrect or disrespectful it is not meant that way. And I apologize in advance if it is. Please contact me via the comment button and I will fix it as quickly as possible.  Also some countries have several different languages spoken and I don't want to post the wrong one so I chose the most used.

As Promised

As Promised I am posting the opening of my book.

Please keep in mind these are the pages of a book before the chapters begin. Feel free to comment or make suggestions.

If I could turn back time

 

So many nights I would lay there and wonder what I could have done differently. Was this my fault? What could I have done to make him do this, to our own daughter? Was I loving enough, he said I was. Was I a good wife, he always said I was the best. Then how? How could this happen. Why did it happen?

 

These questions I will never get an honest answer from him. I know this now and have resigned myself to accept it. He has changed his answers to suit whomever he was talking to. So many different reasons, none true.

 

This isn’t your usual Pedophile/ Sex Offender story. This is a new animal you haven’t heard of before. This one fooled everyone at the exact same time. Friends, family, coworkers, his own children and yes me. His wife of 20 years.

 

When I told friends and family I was going to write this book there wasn’t a single disparaging word. Everyone including the children are supporting me.

 

So why am I writing this and putting my life and curse out for all to see? For you, the person reading this. To help you do what I couldn’t and save children from this abuse. It isn’t just sexual, don’t be fooled. It is more and deeper than you can imagine. It is emotional, physical and never ending. Until you stop it, you take the reins of your life and say STOP.

 

This is our STOP, This is my STOP.

 

I’m hoping to open your eyes and educate you on this new Sex Offender. The loving and honest father, husband, Daddy. What makes him so new and different than the usual Pedophile? That is easy, it was me. We weren’t your typical American family. I was a diehard children’s advocate. My life was protecting all children especially my own. I worked daily, sometimes into the early morning hours doing everything I could to bring my dream to life. Stopping Sex Offenders and finding the missing.

 

 I would post on my forum and write long blog posts to do all I could to bring the missing home or stop a sex offender from getting any more victims. And he supported me 100%. He would read my posts and tell me how proud of me he was. Proud. The truth was not proud but dark and ugly.

 

 

With writing this book I want you to see the truth through my eyes and those of my children. To look at your own life and ask the right questions and maybe save your children like I couldn’t till it was too late.

 

We are no longer the typical American family. We have changed even evolved because of this. It has taken me years to get to this point in my life. To share what happened without crying, to tell you about our life and how perfect can be a bad thing. And hope you learn from it. From this true story. And save a child from the pain my children have had to deal with. The looks of contempt from people who didn’t know the truth, family who were lied to and didn’t know this happened.

 

I wasn’t sure where to start and then realized it has to be from the very beginning. It will make sense later I promise. See what I didn’t see and had no idea was even happening. No not the abuse but the grooming to help conceal it.

Harder than I thought

Morning Everyone,

As promised I'm here to up date you on my progress on the book. I have an outline all written up and the first 5 pages.

Yep you saw that correctly I have started lol. And to be honest this is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Not the writing part but the emotions it brings up.

 I began to get emotional when I started talking about what I wanted people to get from the book and our life way back in the beginning. I caught myself thinking about the way we used to be. But not just memories but the way it actually felt. The butterflies at the thought of holding his hand or our faces going flush when we kissed and so on. And immediately getting angry at myself for letting those feelings to come back into my life. Especially since they were the ones about him.

Those feelings are always followed by nausea and contempt for him. Knowing that he experienced those same feelings when he was abusing our daughter. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

OK back to the present, here and now. I promised my Facebook friends and family I would post my opening page for them to critique and make suggestions about on my personal FB page. And I'm now promising you the same thing.

Later today I will post my opening page here on the blog IF I get 10 comments to this post. I know you think that's silly but oh contra ire it makes perfect sense. If there are 10 comments then I know people are actually interested in seeing the beginning of my book here on the blog. And if there aren't 10 comments then I know the public would rather see other posts on AMBER Alerts or the missing or Sex Offender info and not the book.

The last thing I want to do is run people off by posting things they aren't interested in. So that's why I'm asking for the comments.

It is now 5:45am. I will check back all day and if I get 10 comments by 6:00pm I will post it by 6:30pm.

And I'm not so shallow that I'll be upset or angry if the comments aren't there. It's just an offer to see into what I'm doing :-)

Big News

Greetings Everyone.

I have BIG news. I've decided that I'm going to write a book. It's going to be personal account of what happened to my family over the last few years.

It will explain why I went silent here on the blog and on our site From Whispers to Roars.

It will be a more detailed description of Pedophiles, one we never hear about. And how it changed our lives.

As a children's advocate I told you how to protect your family and children from Sex Offenders. Little did I know that one in particular was paying very close attention and used everything I said to hide his crime.

I will be setting up a FB Fan page chronicling the writing process and also be posting on here. When I'm finished I'll post directions on how to order the book.

This is very scary and personal but having all of you and your support will help me greatly.

We're Still Standing

That's right folks we are still here. In the last few years my life has gone through some major changes.

 But I'm finally at a point where I am able to share with you all what happened, where I've been and where we are going next.

Its going to be very difficult but it is just another big step forward that needs to be done.

In the mean time look back in our history for June 2009 and a post called It Will Never Happen To Me, Oh Really.

It will give you an idea or peek into what's to come.

OK You know me, when I get on my soapbox I don't hold back. The injustice this time is the laying off of David Lohr from Investigation Discovery. David writes for the Criminal Report Daily, an in depth look at missing person's cases as well as murders.

The Author description says that " David Lohr has been writing about crime and criminals for over 15 years. Readers and critics alike regard Mr. Lohr as one of the most prominent crime writers of the 21st century." and yet he was one of about 30 who were given pink slips the other day.

In 2008 David left CourtTV/TruTV to join the Discovery Channels new network ID Investigation Discovery where he heads up the Criminal Report. As a major advocate for the missing and murdered he brings their stories to the forefront and gives them names and voices.

David has also put his time and money where his mouth is by going on searches as well as putting up his own money for Rewards. He is more than an extremely talented journalist he is a humanitarian with a huge heart. He truly cares for the people who are missing and the families left behind. To him it doesn't matter if the person went missing this morning or 15 years ago, if he can help he will!

He has done many articles on cold cases that never had any publicity. He doesn't look for the most high profile cases. He believes they are all important no matter the situation or economic status of the family, Missing is Missing.

Without David at ID the hopes and dreams of the families that their loved one can be found and brought home because of what he wrote will be extinguished.

There have been several articles about David and the others losing their job.

Dana Williams at AC (Associated Content) wrote: "David was the linch-pin of the Investigation Discovery site. He is an outstanding journalist, and to do this to him boggles my mind," Simon (at BNN) wrote. "David Lohr is one of the great advocates for missing children, his work on the Caylee Anthony search is a case in point. Unbiased, objective, and always probing, his articles on the case were the ones that people read first."

Michelle McKee of "In Cold Blog" also wrote: " While it is not the first shake up to go down at Discovery, this one is a major one, and it seems counterproductive to Discovery’s goals to get rid of a journalist and investigative reporter of Lohr’s caliber. Advertising revenue will be lost if the blog goes down, David’s large fan base will look elsewhere to find their information and, most importantly, the families of those with missing loved ones will have lost an important venue with integrity and credibility from where they can reach out to others."

In an effort to try and stop this travesty a Facebook cause was set up called Save Discovery Channel Programming and Jobs. It is a protest aimed at showing Discovery Channel what an unbelievable mistake they are making.

In this group we encourage everyone to visit Discovery Channel's Viewer Relations link and fill out the form in support of keeping David. Also if you are a member of Facebook you can join their Investigation Discovery Fan Page and let your voice be heard.

One person can truly make a difference, will it be you? Will you help the missing all around the world come home? David may be the difference between families being reunited or lost in the shadows. Please help with this campaign and stop Discovery Channel from ignoring the needs of the people and do the right thing.

It’s been awhile for a post because unfortunately there has been no new information on Dylan. It will be 1 year since Dylan’s disappearance in a few days, and we will all be in Edmonton again, putting up flyers, and trying to talk to media. On Sunday we will be holding a candlelight vigil where Dylan went missing

Again I would like to state that for all those who know and love Dylan that there is still hope. Time seems to make our brains think and feel the worst, but the reality is that we just don’t know what happened to him on Oct 11/08. No one can convince me otherwise until we find him, or there is sufficient proof. By saying this, there is no one to blame either. I still feel that there is someone out there that seen him, no matter what angle you look at it from… It’s just that they may be unaware that he is missing, or something was wrong.

I remember the last few times I saw Dylan, we were laughing, goofing around. We got opinionated, and grumpy. He used to give me a half hugs and patted me on the back, which pissed me off… but he held his hugs hostage until he wanted something, then I couldn’t get him off me until I gave in. Like anyone he had his strong points that I respected, and he was also annoying (purposely to bug me). I miss that. I miss him.

Whether Dylan is still alive, or he met with foul play, or even if an accident happened, someone out there has the key of information that will end the suffering of his loved ones, and even Dylan himself. I just want to be able to hug him, or to be able to bury him properly. Either way it’s a better situation than not knowing. I would like to ask for everyone to resend the video/poster/cause to your friends or say a prayer for him this thanksgiving weekend. It all helps.

Last but not least, I would like to thank everyone who has helped in this cause. Be it friend, family, or a stranger that just wants to help. THANK YOU! It means a great deal that this cause has reached so many people. We just need to get his face to that someone who can break this case wide open.

Vigil for Danny Barter Saturday June 20, 2009 Foley,AL

Upcoming vigil in June 2009 Saturday June 20, 2009 6pm.

In June 2009 Lynn and Danny's family are planning a candle light vigil for Danny. This will mark the 50th anniversary of his disappearance in 1959.

It seems with all the new publicity Danny's story has received recently, there has been a lot of confusion as to the location of the campsite. Yes, this was a family camping trip, but this was not a public camping area. This was not a state park or anything of the like. This was a private lot on private property. This area was very remote back in 1959. The family's beach site could not be seen from the road because it was a wooded area.

We appreciate opinions and ideas, but wish they would not be put into public statements without prior approval from the family. Danny's disappearance is a very sensitive issue to us, as well as, an ongoing and open investigation. We understand there are many who only wish to help and we are very grateful. Those who show interest only for selfish intentions are not desired. We take our missing loved one very seriously and do not have time for malicious ambitions.

We only want to find our brother and live our lives in peace. We respect and appreciate everything that the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, the Mobile FBI, and the media has done for us over the years. Without them, we would not have gotten this far. The late Sheriff Taylor Wilkins of Baldwin County was very devoted to finding Danny and spent 3 nights in his car after the search was called off. He wanted to make sure Danny was not alone if he wandered back to the site.

Sheriff Wilkins never forgot Danny, even after his retirement.

Our hopes for the vigil on June 20th is to bring together our family, friends and community to help remember Danny and promote awareness, not only for Danny's disappearance, but other missing persons as well.

The missing of a loved one is one of the hardest ordeals a family could endure, especially when the victim is a child. We strongly believe that someone out there knows what happened to Danny and possibly knows him as another identity.

We hope to find him safe and sound, but most importantly, we seek closure. It has been 50 years and we feel it is time for some answers.

The purpose of the silent demonstration is to grab the public’s attention for a short time on the two year anniversary of Lilly's disappearance to make everyone aware that Lilly is still missing, and we are still looking for answers. We understand that Lilly isn't the only loved one that's missing. There are many missing persons in South Florida and thousands across the country. We are remembering them and their families on this special occasion, as well. Anyone with a missing loved one is urged to attend the event and bring a photo or flyer to share. Let us stand in solidarity.

Family and friends will peacefully deliver a powerful message to Miami Dade Police Department that Lilly deserves justice, she deserves to be found. Lilly has not been forgotten by her family and friends and she shouldn't be forgotten by the community where she lived. We'd like to see Miami Dade Police take meaningful action. Please show your support by joining Lilly's family and friends. Help us seek JUSTICE FOR LILLY!

I realize few of you live in the Miami area, if you are unable to be there in person, we ask you to have Lilly in your thoughts and prayers while the vigil is going on. Please join us in spirit by lighting a candle for Lily (where ever you are). But to those who live in South Florida, we'd love the chance to see you in person to thank you for your support and commitment to finding Lilly these past 2 years. Although it will be a very hard day for all of us, spending it together will help us heal in a small way.

AMBER Alert Issued In N.J. After 2-Year-Old Taken

NEW YORK

(CBS) The New Jersey State Police have issued an AMBER alert for a missing 2-year-old boy.

Altereek Dunn Jr. was allegedly snatched by his father, Altereek Dunn on Wednesday evening.

Dunn is driving a dark colored 2009 Audi -- possibly black or metallic -- with temporary New Jersey registration in the back window.

Ok I finally figured out how to make a windows movie. I added pictures from our list of missing persons sites as well as NCMEC.

Hi All,
