View What Your Teens Do Online



A 15-year-old texas girl abducted and raped by a man police say she met on increasingly popular website, Myspace. It happened just in the last week near Houston. Officers issued an Amber Alert and the girl was found more than 12 hours later at the man's house in League City.

After that case, investigators are once again warning parents to keep track of what their children are doing online. News 4 WOAI's Leila Walsh tested some new software that claims to do just that. >>rest of the story

Police hunt for man who tried to lure boy (South Dakota)

RAPID CITY - Police are using the Sex Offender Locator Verification, or SOLVE, program to try to find a man who reportedly offered a child a ride Thursday near Horace Mann Elementary School.

Lt. Doug Thrash of the Rapid City Police Department said police check the 240 sex-offender files every three or four months to see if the sex offenders are where they claim to be. The last check was done >>rest of the story

Sex Offender Arrested at Daycare (Mississippi)

A registered sex offender has been arrested for trespassing at a Byram daycare.

Alex Baham of Byram was taken into custody Wednesday. The operator of the Wee Care Daycare Center spotted him outside the daycare last Monday. >> rest of the story

Allegany County may be home to child advocacy center (Maryland)

CUMBERLAND - It's only in the beginning stages, but Allegany County may be home to a child advocacy center in the next few years.

“It will reduce additional trauma to a child abuse victim and reduce the amount of times a victim has to tell (his/her) story,” said Bev Green of the Department of Social Services.

Green joined John Sangiovanni and Karen Crosby on Thursday to receive a $78,445 grant from Gov. Robert Ehrlich on behalf of the Department of Human Resource's Office of Victim's Services and the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention. >> rest of the story

Florida Sex-offender program fails, newspaper finds

MIAMI -- A Florida program created to provide therapy to sex offenders is failing to identify and supervise some of the most violent predators, allowing dozens to roam the state and prey on women and children, according to a six-month investigation by The Miami Herald. >> rest of the story

Arizona Amber Alert notifications slow to get out



While Thursday's Amber Alert had a happy ending, once again, we’re reporting on a delay in time.

This time, there was almost a 20-minute delay in getting information to the Tucson media.
