When Your Child Is Missing: A Family Survival Guide

When Your Child Is Missing: A Family Survival Guide

I remember standing in the middle of the chaos thinking, I wish I had a book to tell me what to do. -- Colleen Nick

This is a document published by The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. This is information that everyone should have. We, along with OJJDP encourage you to print or copy this and distribute it wherever you can.

I pray that you or anyone you know will never need it, but you'll have it if you do. There are so many terrible people out there that prey on our children and we must do whatever we can to protect them.-- From In His Hands

We have the complete guide posted.
It is highly recommended that every parent have a copy of this guide. Even though you may never use it, someone you know and love may need it.

The guide is located Here.

This guide has great details and includes a lot of important things people wouldn't think of in a crisis situation. As noted, the first 24 hours are critical in getting out word of a missing person. The best way to do this effectively is to be proactive. A service like Amber Alert Registry (http://www.amberalertregistry.com) allows parents to upload all of that valuable ICE info, including photos, detailed descriptions, and medical info, to a secure online registry. All law enforcement needs is a password from a parent to have instant access to the info and to share it w/other law agencies & the media.
