Three new charges against Huckaby
Tracy woman accused of poisoning two, including a 7-year-old girl

STOCKTON - Prosecutors on Thursday filed three additional felony counts against Melissa Huckaby, charging her with poisoning two people, including a 7-year-old girl and an adult man.

The girl lived in the same Tracy mobile home park as the slain Sandra Cantu. Huckaby, 28, is expected to appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court today for further arraignment on previous charges that she kidnapped, raped and murdered 8-year-old Sandra on March 27 before dumping the girl's body in an irrigation pond north of Tracy.

Huckaby's attorney, Sam Behar, was expected to enter a plea on his client's behalf at today's hearing, but the new charges could lead to a change in the defense strategy.

The new complaint charges Huckaby with a single count of child endangerment and two felony counts of furnishing a harmful substance, which is not identified in the document. In both counts of alleged poisoning, the complaint says Huckaby "did willfully and unlawfully mingle a harmful substance with food or drink with the intent that (it) be taken by a human being."

The complaint charges Huckaby with poisoning the 7-year-old girl, identified only as Jane M. Doe, on Jan. 17, the same day a woman in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park - where both Sandra and Huckaby lived - reported to Tracy police that Huckaby returned her daughter drugged with a muscle relaxant.

Tracy police fell under scrutiny for failing to thoroughly investigate the report.

Rather, detectives reportedly accused the girl's mother of giving her daughter the pills and ended their investigation.

The girl recovered from the poisoning.

In the second poisoning charge, Huckaby allegedly drugged a man identified as Daniel Plowman on March 2 - 21/2 months after the first alleged poisoning and 25 days before Sandra was reported missing. Her body was found April 6.

Plowman's relationship with Huckaby is unclear, and his whereabouts are unknown. He could not be located for comment Thursday.

The complaint doesn't give his age or any details of the alleged poisoning.

A judge's gag order prevents attorneys, investigators and potential witnesses from talking to the media.

Huckaby is scheduled to appear before San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge Linda Lofthus at 1 p.m. today.

TECUMSEH, Okla. -- Police are looking for a 14-year-old girl believed to be with a 40-year-old man, possibly in danger.

Deborah Kalai Fourzan, 14, was last seen at 8 a.m. at Tecumseh High School. The girl's parents told police they took her to school on Tuesday but that she never attended any classes.

Police Detective J.R. Kidney said officers have been told she is with James Joseph Reimer, 40, but that there is no definitive proof of it.

"He's 40-years-old, she's 14. We just don't believe that is a good combination and can have a good result," Kidney said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Reimer, who is accused of texting sexual content to Fourzan.

The convenience store where Reimer worked -- Spring Hill Grocery, near the intersection of highways 9 and 102 -- reported a cash theft on Monday afternoon. Officers said that several thousand dollars were taken from the store.

"Just bring her home, just let her come home," Deborah's mother Crystal Vanbuskirk said.

Vanbuskirk said she found several text messages from Reimer on her daughter’s cell phone.

The family said they used to consider Reimer a close family friend.

"The messages just kept coming in and coming in and coming in. There were thirty-plus messages of him calling her his lover. ‘I love you. How come you're not calling me back?’

He did not know she was grounded from her phone this time," Vanbuskirk said.

Detectives said they were investigating Reimer when he disappeared Monday morning.

Deborah’s friends said she told them she was leaving town with Reimer.

Students at Tecumseh High School told detectives they believe Reimer might have taken Fourzan to California.

The girl’s mother said the family is just staying positive and hoping for the best.

"She's 14-years-old. She needs to be home with her family," Vanbuskirk said.

There are no vehicle descriptions.

Kidnapped boy found in Las Vegas

A 6-year-old Las Vegas boy believed to have been kidnapped by drug dealers has been found alive at a bus stop in the city, authorities say.



Las Vegas police say Cole Puffinburger, 6, the subject of a nationwide amber alert missing child search, was found just before 11 p.m. Saturday after a four-day investigation, KVVU-TV, Las Vegas, reported. His condition was not released.



Cole's grandfather, Clemons Tinnemeyer, 51, is in custody in California. Police officials said Tinnemeyer's alleged debts to a Mexican drug gang may have been the motivation for the kidnapping, in which armed men disguised as police officers broke into the boy's home Wednesday, tied up his mother and stepfather and abducted him at gunpoint.



After Tinnemeyer was apprehended Friday in California, police canceled the amber alert for Cole. Las Vegas authorities told KVVU they were looking for a second person of interest, Jesus Gastelum, described as a man in his 30s who may have ties to both the drug gang and Cole's family.

Father Primary Suspect in Child's Disappearance

Racquel Butler has been franticly searching for the whereabouts of her seven-year-old daughter Zaria Marceo, who has been missing since September 1.


Zaria spends every other weekend with her father, Dahnje Marceo, who was supposed to drop Zaria off at the police station for Butler to pickup. Marceo never showed up with Zaria, and they have not been seen since.


Butler and Marceo separated before Zaria was born, and Butler has claimed that Marceo has been making her and Zaria’s lives a struggle ever since. Butler claims that Marceo can be abusive, and that Zaria has expressed that she did not want to spend weekends with her father.


Butler was awarded full custody of Zaria, who attends Baldwin Hills Elementary School. Butler claims that Marceo not only harasses her, but also her 17 year-old son, who has a different father.


It would appear that Marceo might have help because he is a triple amputee, and according to Butler, he is unemployed. He does not pay child support. Butler says that Marceo has ties in the Belizean community, and in the past has threatened to take Zaria to Belize.


Butler cried out for community help at a tearful press conference in front of the Sentinel.


“If anybody sees her, please, please call the police, please return her safe,” Butler said. “Just call 9-1-1. He might be violent.


Since he is a triple amputee his mind is starting to deteriorate. He’s kind of a danger to others. If you see him do not approach him. Just follow him and call the police.”

“We’d like the public’s help in locating this child,” said Detective Allen.


“Anyone would want their child returned to them if they were missing. This is somebody who would definitely stick out in the community if you saw him.”


Marceo is missing both legs and one arm. He has artificial limbs and is using public transportation to travel.


Los Angeles City Councilman Bernard Parks secured a $25,000 reward for information that leads to returning Zaria home safely.

Amber Alert Issued for Two California Children

The California Highway Patrol issued the Amber Alert Sunday afternoon after the children were abducted and their mother shot multiple times in Sunland. The suspect is armed and believed to be heading to Mexico.


Diego Fabien Ortega a 5 year old Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing a blue and green checkered shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.


Luis Gonzalo Ortega a 3 year old Hispanic male. He was last seen wearing a red checkered shirt.

The suspect is 27-year-old Jose Luis Ortega, a Hispanic male, 5'6" tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.When last seen he was wearing a white shirt and jeans.


The suspect vehicle is a 1998 black Ford Ranger pickup truck with California license plate 7Z19738.

Anyone with any information on this abduction is asked to call 911.
