LEOMINSTER -- Local police do not have any leads on the location of Diego LaGreca, a 13-year-old Leominster resident who has been missing for more than a week, according to a press release from the Leominster Police Department.
LaGreca left home for Southeast Middle School, where he is a seventh-grader, on Monday, Dec. 4.
He has not returned home since, the release states.
"He is a runaway leaving behind a note stating he was running away, and not to try to find him," the release states.
Det. Richard Gallant, who is heading up the search for LaGreca, helped police rule out a kidnapping.
"There is information (that indicates LaGreca ran away)," he said Monday. "There was a note left that has been read to us."
LaGreca has logged onto his online Instant Messenger account, but Gallant said the teen has not responded when his friends and family have contacted him.
"There's been (no communication) that we've heard of," he said.
Police are asking any people with information about LaGreca's location to call the department's main line at (978) 534-7560.
