Foster care officials appeal for more homes for kids
KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) — Foster care officials in the Florida Keys are appealing for more foster homes.
The Key West Citizen reports that the area has about 70 children who need safe places to stay, but the 29 licensed foster homes are full.
The Wesley House Family Services says Monroe County is also currently unable to place children who need a special home for medical or psychological reasons, and those children have to be moved outside the county.
If you can help contact your local Foster Family Program.
