Woman's Body Found In Heavily Wooded Area
LONGVIEW, Wash. - A woman's body has been found and now the question being asked is whether it is the body of a Longview woman who has been missing for just over two weeks.
The body was found Tuesday morning near a logging road off Headquarters Road between Castle Rock and Kelso. Police say someone called 911 to report the discovery.
According to The Daily News in Longview, the family of Lori Hamm, who has been missing since July 16, was notified of the discovery, although the identification of the body has not yet been made.
A source close to the Hamm family told KATU News that DNA may have to be used to determine the identity of the body that was found. Lori Hamm attended church the morning she disappeared. Her blue Ford Focus was later found in a Home Depot parking lot in Longview.Witnesses told police they saw a well-known transient, John Wayne Thomson, driving that same car.
Thomson has been convicted three times for rape. He is also the prime suspect in a Washington state murder investigation.
